Content: Learning the content of the time period (what happened) through textbook reading, supplementary lectures, and reading of primary sources and secondary source articles, including those which present contrasting interpretations of historical events
Reading: Learning and practicing the reading and note-taking skills necessary to digest and retain information from a college-level text, interpret and evaluate primary sources, and identify the thesis statement and evidence used to make historical arguments in secondary source articles
Writing: Fine-tuning persuasive and expository writing skills by brainstorming prior knowledge, developing strong thesis statements, categorizing & organizing evidence, outlining, and constructing strong introductory and supporting paragraphs
